Assessments for Autism
A step by step guide through the process of assessments for Autism for children and adults.
We will require this information before the face to face assessment can go ahead. The importance of this is to ensure that we can make the most effective use of the first appointment.
A face to face appointment will then be offered at our Beckenham Clinic. This will last 1.5 – 2 hours and will be for your child and, ideally, both parents to attend.
The appointment begins with your child completing the QbCheck with a member of the clinical team – this is a computer-based test that forms part of the assessment battery for all neurodiversity assessments at the Dr Kilbey Practice.
Your child completes the ADOS-2 Assessment (Autism Diagnostic Observational Schedule) in person at the Beckenham clinic. This appointment lasts approximately 45 – 60 minutes and is undertaken by two ADOS trained clinicians from Dr Kilbey’s team.
